ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences)
This training explains the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study and identifies all 10
ACEs. All childhood experiences, especially traumatic events, have an impact on people as
they mature. This training explores the long term effects that adverse childhood experiences have on physical and mental health. Preventative measures, resiliency, and how to address the needs of children with a high ACEs score are all discussed. Personal ACE’s test provided.

Trauma 101
What is Trauma? The training answers this question by defining trauma, how trauma affects children, and what caregivers can do to assist children. The presentation will heighten the participant’s awareness of children’s cues so they will know what to expect and how to respond when a child experiences trauma triggers.

Sexual Exploitation & Trafficking of Youth

Resiliency
This Resiliency Training provides information on how to foster resilience in children. This training looks at factors that affect resilience, the human adaptive process, ways to successfully cope with trauma, and the 12 steps of successful survivors. The training ends with a discussion around how professionals and caregivers can help children feel safe, capable and loveable.

Whole Brain Care
Whole Brain Care introduces participants to the functions of the brain, the effects of the brain’s mirror neurons, and how the brain hemispheres’ impact specific behaviors, which is helpful to know when working with youth (or adults) with a background of trauma. This training uses the teachings of Dan Siegel, MD, and shows how behaviors are often driven by more than just “bad choices” or defiance. Has fun and easy to understand examples!

Sexual Health in Foster Care
Sexual Health in Foster Care examines reproductive and sexual health in relationship to Child Welfare System children. Foster and older adopted youth often have higher rates of risky sexual behavior, negative sexual health outcomes & higher rates of sexual exploitation, and can become sexually active earlier than their peers. This training will help participants better understand the sexual health needs of youth with a background of trauma and how they can
help meet these needs.
