Resiliency

This Resiliency Training provides information on how to foster resilience in children. This training looks at factors that affect resilience, the human adaptive process, ways to successfully cope with trauma, and the 12 steps of successful survivors. The training ends with a discussion around how professionals and caregivers can help children feel safe, capable and loveable.

This presentation addresses the need to keep children connected to their culture of origin   while in foster and adoptive care. It covers the importance of cultural difference s when working or living with a child of a different race or culture, providing insight on how attendees can recognize different values, beliefs, behaviors, communication variations and potential barriers  in themselves and youth.

Trauma and Food: What is the connection?

This webinar will discuss the reasons behind food related concerns and is designed for those treating, supporting and caring for children who have experienced trauma and may now have “quirky” eating habits. We will discuss how trauma affects childhood development and behaviors, as well as offer practical and easy ideas to help in regard to eating!

ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences)

This training explains the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study and identifies all 10 ACEs. All childhood experiences, especially traumatic events, have an impact on people as they mature. This training explores the long-term effects that adverse childhood experiences have on physical and mental health. Preventative measures, resiliency, and how to address the needs of children with a high ACEs score are all discussed. Personal ACE’s test provided. A place to share concerns, resources and meet others who understand! Does not matter which placing agency you used previously or are with currently. It is an honest, supportive environment

with humor and ideas. For adults only, no childcare provided.
