Description:The relationship between foster parents and birth family can play a key role in successful
reunification, or aid in a more successful adoption process. It is critical that caregivers have the skills
to communicate effectively with the child’s key relatives. This training will focus on building
communication skills and also enhance the participants’ understanding of the impact of trauma on
parenting, and the birth parent grief process.

Description:This Resiliency Training provides information on how to foster resilience in children. This training
looks at factors that affect resilience, the human adaptive process, ways to successfully cope with
trauma, and the 12 steps of successful survivors. The training includes a discussion around how those
